In this 4th-grade history lesson, students will learn about Pioneer Life, the Homestead Act of 1862, and complete a social studies activity. They will design a quilt as they read and answer questions about early settlers in the United States. The worksheets and assessments address various Idaho Content Standards. The PDF download includes everything you need to teach this lesson. It can also supplement topics found in The Idaho Adventure textbook if you choose.
